As from February, 2025, due to an increase of 2.5% in the SSI federal benefit rate, owing to the annual cost-of-living adjustment, the adjusted increase raises the payment for an individual up to $696.
SSI Pay Schedule
Usually, SSI payments are issued on the first of the month at midnight, provided the first is a working day. If the first falls on Saturday, Sunday, or a federal holiday, it is issued on the last working day of the previous month. For February 2025, the first of the month, therefore, falls due on the fifth day of the week -Saturday. The payments are expected to be deposited on Friday, January 31, 2025, rather than March 1, 2025.
Who Gets Paid on February 28, 2025?
Under normal circumstances, SSI payments for February are paid on January 31, 2025; however, some individuals will get paid on February 28, 2025 as shown here:
–Those Getting Both SSI and Social Security Payments: If you receive both SSI and Social Security benefits, you should expect your Social Security payments to start on the third of the month. The payments will be made to you before the 4th if the 3rd falls on a weekend or holiday. And in February 2025, the 3rd will be a Monday. Hence payments will be made on this date.
–Beneficiaries Birthday Falling Between the 21st and 31st: Payments to Social Security beneficiaries with birth dates in the range of the 21st to the 31st are generally set for the fourth Wednesday of the month. On the basis of this for the year 2025, the fourth Wednesday would be February 26.
