Outline of Expenses
The 2025 Canadian Express Entry application process necessitates setting aside a budget for various expenses: application fees, language competency tests, assessment fees for educational qualifications, evidence for settlement funds, and others. These are mandatory aspects of applying for permanent residency through the Canadian immigration system.
Application Fees
Certain application processing fees apply for the Express Entry program in Canada. The principal applicant is meant to pay an application fee of CAD 850. CAD 515 Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) will be added in case of approval. If there are spouses or common-law partners involved, they are to bear an extra CAD 850 for the processing fee and an additional CAD 515 for RPRF. Children come with a $230-per-head cost.
Language Proficiency and Educational Credential Assessment
Applicants are required to sample their English or French proficiency. For language tests, the range of the fee is from CAD 300 to CAD 350. Four hundred more can be borne by an applicant who chooses to demonstrate French proficiency through the TEF or TCF tests. Applicants also need to submit an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) as proof of their qualifications. ECAs generally cost approximately CAD 200 and CAD 300, as the charges vary depending on the evaluation body.
Proof of Settlement Funds
The applicant must also prove to the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW) or Federal Skilled Trades Program (FST) that they have ample funds to support themselves upon arrival in Canada, with family in tow. The single applicant must bear CAD 13,757. The threshold goes up to CAD 17,127 with two persons, and for three, it is CAD 21,055. The applicant will have to set aside CAD 3,706 for each additional family member.
Additional Costs
There are some other costs the applicants should consider beyond those indicated. For example, applicants will need to pay for medical hard tests, police certificates, and collection of biometric components. Medical exams typically range between CAD 200 and CAD 300, police certificates range between CAD 50 and CAD 100 per country, while biometrics collection stands at CAD 85 per head or CAD 170 per family for the identical collection.
In general, the funds of the applicants should fully cover Express Entry costs and other charges in 2025. Being prepared will make the experience of applying smoother and quicker.
